A new study just released shows that walking 15 minutes 4 times per week can cut the risk of death in elderly by 40%. Italian researchers found that older people who walk at least 4 times per week cut their chances of morbidity by as much as 40%. The study covered a 10 year period and included a 156 residents living in a senior home. Experts felt that walking could reduce the risk of heart attack, stroke and other common causes of death in the elderly. Another benefit that was noted in the study was that people who walked also had a tendency to eat healthy and to be less depressed.[1]
